HOW TO TEACH ENGLISH TO CHILDREN By Lesli Flores Palacios

HOW TO TEACH ENGLISH TO CHILDREN

MAKE IT ACTIVE

If there is one thing kids like more than having fun, it’s moving. In fact, Dr. Maria Montessori suggested that young children are not able to learn unless they are also able to move. In addition, involving the whole body in language learning is a useful teaching method.

MAKE IT FUN

This is one factor that really matters to kids. And that goes for kids on the playground as well as those in the classroom. I’ll never forget what my nephew said after his first day of kindergarten. Some educators believe that kids learn best through play. And what is true of English-speaking children, in this case, will also be true of your English-learning students. Here are some ways you can make learning more fun with your students:

Play Games
Be Creative
Include Art in Your Class
Take Your Class Outside

DON’T PUT PRESSURE ON YOUR STUDENTS

Their natural acquisition process will follow three simple steps. They will recognize words and grammar when you use them. They will be able to respond when you ask them questions about the words and grammar you use. And then they will be able to use those language structures themselves.

TEACHING AND LEARNING THROUGH STORIES By Lesli Flores

TEACHING AND LEARNING THROUGH STORIES

The model class on how to teach English through the stories was incredible, it was carried out by the teacher Lourdes.

The motivation she used to keep the kids looking good was impressive; Also the gestures and the techniques that he used; He gave us to understand that there are different ways to teach English to children.

Stories are effective as educational tools because they are believable, rememberable, and entertaining. The believability stems from the fact that stories deal with human-like experience that we tend to perceive as an authentic and credible source of knowledge. Stories make information more rememberable because they involve us in actions of the characters. In so doing, stories invite active meaning making.

UNDERSTANDING CHILDREN’S DEVELOPMENT By Lesli Flores

UNDERSTANDING CHILDREN’S DEVELOPMENT

Neurological studies show that the early years play a key role in the child's brain development. Babies begin early to learn about the world around them, including during the prenatal, perinatal (immediately before and after birth) and postnatal periods.

The early experiences of a child, the bonds they form with their parents and their early educational experiences, profoundly affect their physical, cognitive, emotional and social development in the future.

Optimizing the first few years in a child's life is the best investment you can make to ensure your future success.

The brain develops by 80% in the first three years of life and in the next two years it develops by 10% more, ie up to 5 years, the human brain has developed by 90% So that the development of the brain in the first three years of life, are the central axis of the integral development of the child, since it is in this period when the most important events of their maturation must occur, to develop in an integral form the attachment , The stimulation of their linguistic, cognitive, psychological, motor and intellectual capacities, socialization and play facilitate their development in a healthy and well structured way.

Development involves the differentiation and maturity of cells and refers to the acquisition of skills and abilities in several stages of life, the main areas in which they have to pay attention during their development are; Posture, motor, vision, motor, hearing, attention, situational, speech, semantic and behavior.

It is important for parents to know the patterns of child development that aim to provide a set of "general" guidelines regarding the expected development in children, determined by their age, to observe the characteristics of each stage or stage and to stimulate or facilitate them Achieve them and in turn detect alarm signals, if they would have difficulties in their development and know when to seek help from a development specialist.

A BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE AYACUCHO - CANGALLO By Lesli Flores Palacios

A BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE

AYACUCHO - CANGALLO

By Lesli Flores Palacios

In the 10th cycle of my career, I took a practical course to the community, where I had to travel to Ayacucho - Cangallo. This place is a beautiful community, where I got many experiences; At the beginning I was very afraid to travel, since I had never traveled alone but I had to do it because it was part of my career, so I had to travel to Cangallo.

The province of Cangallo

We were 21 students and a Teacher, our goal was to carry out educational projects to satisfy educational and social needs. When we arrived in Cangallo we stayed in the lodging called OTI and we had to be there more than 30 days. The coexistence with my classmates was incredible to the point of calling us "family", for example when we had to have breakfast one of my classmate called everybody "family to have breakfast" and we  went to the dining room. I will never forget those moments.
Group # 23
On the first Monday in October we presented ourselves to the municipality the first hour, well I was a little nervous because I had to represent my group and speak a few words to the mayor of Cangallo, it was also a new experience to address an authority and all workers Of the municipality.
Fortunately we received the unconditional support of the municipality of the community and the UGEL.

Presentation in the municipality and UGEL

The group # 23 realized different projects according to their specialty, I and my group of foreign languages we realized two projects:

1. English workshop in "Corazón de Jesús"  school - Cangallo, with students of 5th and 6th grade primary, the object was that twhen  they entering high school wasn't very difficult to learn English and also they can have a basic level.

2. environment of didactic materials of English: carried out in  "Santa Rosa" school in the library we left more than 25 subjects so that the teacher of English can use the teaching materials and teaching is more didactic and fun.

GROUP # 23 REALIZED GENERAL PROJECTS AS INSTITUTIONAL COACHING, CHILDREN SHOW, PARENT SCHOOL AND A GREAT CLOUSING

My project

English children's workshop

I did a project for children of the first grade of elementary school in "Corazon de Jesus" School, well this workshop filled me with many experiences, because I could observe the level of English in the province was extremely low or zero and that's what I lived in Cangallo with the first grade children. The first workshop felt like I was talking and singing alone ... because children  just looked at me and said "where are you from?" But then I tried to do something they already knew but using the English language "PLAY", I started to play with them using the English language and little by little they became familiar with the English language, It was not easy to capture their attention but I achieved it and I felt a huge satisfaction. I knew it was just the beginning of many things I could do. Teaching children is very complicated but if you use fun methodologies you can capture their attention and you can keep it.

When it was the fourth workshop I returned them to evaluate and I could see that they already understood some phrases and even sang the songs in English, maybe they didn't pronounce it exactly but they already assimilated and sang along with me.

IT WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE !!!

THE DIFFERENCE
BETWEEN

COPERATIVE AND COLLABORATIVE

We often use these words interchangeably, but they represent fundamentally different ways of contributing to a group and each comes with its own dynamics and power structures that shape groups in different ways …

Center of education innovation

COOPERATIVE:

Is an instructional strategy that simultaneously addresses academic and social skill learning by students.

COLLABORATIVE:

Is commonly illustrated when groups of students work together to search for understanding, meaning, or solutions or to create an artifact or product of their learning.

COOPERATIVE AND COLLABORATIVE LEARNING - WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
COOPERATIVE AND COLLABORATIVE LEARNING ARE PERHAPS BEST VIEWED AS BEING AT DIFFERENT ENDS OF A CONTINUUM WHERE THE MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THEM ARE WHO HAS THE AUTHORITY OVER KNOWLEDGE AND THE POWER OVER THE LEARNING PROCESSES; TO PUT IT ANOTHER WAY, THE DEGREE OF CONTROL GIVEN TO THE LEARNERS BY THE FACULTY MEMBER.

ENGLISH SEMINAR - UNE by Lesli Flores

Week 1: English Seminar by Lesli Flores

Something of Myself

One afternoon at 4.33 pm on July 22 in 1993 Mr. Mario Flores and Isabel Palacios received up their second daughter, their princess called Lesli Yulissa Flores Palacios, delighting the home of her parents and other relatives.
When She was born, the doctors told her that  she was going to have a lot of luck because she was born standing, since all babies were born head.
She was very active, responsible and playful. Way too fast, she liked doing things for herself without help.
At 3 years old she walked into a garden near her house and she was very happy to share with her classmates.

Then She began to study the primary at 6 years, after that she applied to the school called Leoncio Prado in Ate - Vitarte, where she completed her studies successfully. She realized that She started to like languages.

I'm preparing for a better future

Currently she is studying at the National University of Education "Enrique Guzman y Valle" and there takes 5 years, her major is English - Spanish as a foreing language and she  plans to finish and graduate. She also studied at Icpna and The National University of "San Marcos" a specialization course "early stimulation", she  wants to open her own center of early stimulation and add the English language in children from the first stage.

My beautiful family :)

She lives with her parents, is 23 and has a large family with 5 sisters and 2 brothers. I also have my little niece "Gaela" and my nephew "Snaider", I love them.

Beautiful times

Her hobbies include spending time with her family and go for a walk. She also likes to use her free time going to conferences that help her to her resume and to learn more.

Valle Encantado 2015

I worked in a KinderGarden called "Valle Encantado".  nowadays I work in a Country Club El Bosque and I teach English as a private teacher.
